Southfield House care home in Spalding hosts festive entertainment for residents

There was festive fun at a Spalding care home when residents, families and colleagues got together for a Christmas fair and Karaoke.

The event, held at the Orders of St John Care Trust, Southfield House, in Woolram Wygate, also helped to raise money towards future trips and activities for residents.

Home manager, Elaine Whittle, said: "All our residents, families and colleagues had a lovely afternoon with singing, dancing and some Christmas stalls, including a Santa’s grotto for the children.

"We raised £140 on the day and £85 prior to the event, as one of our residents kindly made some Christmas cards to sell.

"Our head of care donated a large brown teddy bear which we raffled on the day. Mr Samuel Hooper, director of Process Pipework Installation Services, won the bear and has kindly decided to re raffle the bear at their company’s Christmas party and donate the proceeds back to our residents here at Southfield House, for which we are truly grateful.

"All monies raised will enable our residents to continue to enjoy trips out and activities throughout the next year.

"We are holding a Christmas panto on Sunday (December 15), starting at 2pm. If you would like to join us for any activities please do contact the home for our schedule of events."
