It’s mince pies, mulled wine and carols all the way through the weekend as villages and towns hold special Christmas celebrations.
It’s Holbeach St Nicholas Christmas Fayre at All Saints Church on both Saturday and Sunday (10am to 4pm) with more than 30 stalls selling a variety of speciality foods and hampers, gifts and jewellery.
A programme of entertainment has been planned, including dancers, singers and bands, plus Santa’s grotto, face painting, a fairground ride and a chance for youngsters to see how a fire engine works.
There’s also a fun dog show on Sunday (1-3pm) in addition to performances from Sutton Bridge Gospel Choir (12.30pm), Holbeach Town Band (3pm), and school choirs throughout the afternoon.
The Chappell Centre in Spalding holds its Christmas Fayre on Thursday (10am to noon). There are also events at Broad Street Methodist Church, Spalding, where a Christmas Tree Festival and Fayre is planned on Saturday (10am onwards); the Christmas Fayre at Marjorum Hall, Gosberton Risegate, is on Saturday (2-4.30pm); Market Deeping Community Primary School’s Christmas Fayre is on Sunday (11am-2pm).
