The diving pool at Spalding's Castle Sports Centre was closed again last night (Monday).

A spokesman for Lex Leisure, which operates Castle Sports Centre on behalf of South Holland District Council, has confirmed that the closure was due to issues with the chemicals in the pool.

He said: “The diving pool was closed for part of Monday and was not able to be opened until after the swim club session, once the required chemical parameters had returned to acceptable levels.

"Further works are being progressed to fully identify and rectify the recent problems experienced with the diving pool. The main and learner pools have remained open, as per the timetable."

The pool was also closed earlier this month due to an electrical surge.

There are also hopes that staffing levels are beginning to improve and will continue to as school exams come to an end.

The spokesman added: "Staffing levels have improved following a recent lifeguard course, as well as some additional recruitment, and with school exams finishing we expect to have further improved cover availability in the coming weeks.”
