Cheeky monkeys in Gosberton Rainbows discovered they could do 26 different silly walks while raising money for Children with Cancer UK.
A dozen youngsters aged from five to six-and-a-half years took part in the charity’s Cheeky Monkey’s Marathon Challenge.
Because it’s a marathon challenge, every fundraising effort has to be based on the number 26 – the number of miles in a marathon – and the Rainbows did laps inside their church hall with a different walk for each one.
“They did crazy frogs, walk like a dog – things like that,” said leader Kerry Chadburn.
Hopping, skipping and simply walking tall with arms raised were among other ways of navigating the hall.
Nine of the youngsters were sponsored and raised a magnificent £270 for the charity, which is fighting childhood cancer and saving young lives in a variety of ways.
The charity’s work includes funding 50 research projects into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancers.
It also funds welfare projects and works to raise awareness about the illness.
