A charity helping to brighten the lives of elderly and vulnerable people in Bourne and the Deepings has been given a helping hand by Santander Bank.

Evergreen Care Trust, founder by Australian-born district nurse Louise Marsh in May 2005, was presented with £5,000 to fund multiple volunteer projects in the Bourne and Deepings areas, including chaplaincy, befriending, cleaning and meal provision.

The service will be provided free of charge to the charity’s more than 500 clients who are served by a team of clients under Louise’s supervision as chief executive officer for the trust.

Louise said: “The services we offer improve the daily lives of many local people, helping them manage everyday activities.

“We are delighted and thankful to the Santander customers who nominated Evergreen and to the Santander Foundation for its generous and much-appreciated grant.

Roseanne Davies of Santander Bank said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Evergreen Care Trust and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
