Chairty donations in Donington will not be given out due to COVID

Charity money given out every year in Donington will not be donated this year because of COVID-19.

Each year in the village, money is distributed to the needy by the Donington Poors Land, Enoch Millson and Vicar and Church Warden charities.

Following a collective discussion, a joint decision has been made by the trustees not to carry out the donations this year, in order toprotect everyone’s health.

The trustees will review the situation next year with a view to holding an annual distribution in December 2021.

A joint statement read: “The trustees make this decision with a heavy heart but feel it is extremely important to prioritise the safety of the community at this difficult time.

“Please look out for further notices in late 2021 with
details of the 2021 annual distribution and eligibility.”
