A MEDICAL charity has received a £1,000 boost thanks to Surfleet Bowls Club.
The club meets every Thursday at 7pm and members pay a subscription which covers the cost of renting the village hall.
The weeks where there is surplus cash, it goes into a fund for replacing equipment.
Chairman George Ogden said: “ The most expensive item would be new bowling mats, which are around £800 each.
“Fortunately we have been lucky enough to obtain used mats from another club at a much lower cost.
“While the club still needs to be prudent for the future, we agreed that the accumulated funds more than cater for our future needs and decided to make a donation to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.”
New members are welcome to join the club – if you are interested then please contact George on 01775 680605.
