The people of Donington may be getting slimmer, but as a group they are growing!

Emma Scarborough took over the Donington Slimming World group three years ago. Last year alone, members collectively lost over two tonnes in weight.

Emma says: “In that time the group has more than doubled in size and we are moving into a bigger venue in Donington and changing to a different day, also adding more sessions to give more members greater choice.”

The new group opens on Monday at the Royal British Legion hall in the village with sessions at 9.30am, 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Mum of five Emma joined the group as a member and has since lost four stones in weight and last year ran the London Marathon – a big turnaround for the previously inactive childminder.

Emma said: “We as a group do amazing things such as the last two years we raised over £4,000 for cancer charities by holding a Race for Life in Donington, which is encouraging more local people to become more active and change their lives forever.

“I’m passionate about my role and giving our local community the tools to lose weight and be slim and healthy for life. I know people are thankful there is hope and a way out of the misery of obesity.”
