Spalding Mencap on a mission to see Jack and the Beanstalk
Members of Mencap in Spalding are celebrating a big cash windfall.
More than £370 was raised at Spalding's Hall Place branch of Nationwide Building Society, enough to transport members young and old to the South Holland Centre to see the panto, Jack and the Beanstalk.
Mencap community support worker and fundraiser Glynis Scalese (pictured left) said: "Nationwide very kindly offered to do a charity collection for us.
"I went along on two Wednesdays with two of the people that we support that have learning disabilities and we raised £371, which is an excellent response."
Pictured with Glynis are Nationwide manager Craig Allan and customer representative Karen French.
Glynis says the charity supports around 30 people of varying ages in Spalding who have learning disabilities.
She said: "We are very grateful to Nationwide and to their customers for helping us in this way."
*Jack and the Beanstalk runs until Monday, December 31.
