Cash back plea

Sutton Bridge Parish Council is still demanding a £24,000 refund to the Section 106 power station fund for the parish after the district council drew money out to pay one of its members of staff.

The district council claims there are no diary records or time sheets for the economic development officer it employed, who was funded from Section 106 pots from both the Spalding and Sutton Bridge power stations.

Sutton Bridge Parish clerk Suzanne England said half of the officer’s workload needed to involve Sutton Bridge to qualify for the cash, but there was no record of any projects between 2007-2009.

The parish council had letters from district economic development department officer Nigel Burch and portfolio holder Coun Howard Johnson, but agreed to pursue the complaints procedure through the chief executive.
