Food giant Bakkavor is donating more than £13,500 to help victims of the Nepal earthquake.

Staff at the company’s 32 UK businesses – including five in South Holland and one in Bourne – paid cash to wear red for a day and the company match-funded every penny they raised.

Bakkavor technical director Ann Savage said: “Our employees have made a huge effort to support the cause and we’re happy to be contributing more than £13,000 towards the relief efforts.”

The company’s South Holland businesses are based in Spalding, Holbeach St Marks and Sutton Bridge and there’s another one at Old Leake, near Boston.
