Christmas is less than two weeks away and it’s time to set aside the “to do” list and enjoy the music of this season.
On Thursday, there are carols by candlelight at Gosberton Baptist Church (7pm).
On Friday, Gosberton House School is hosting a carol concert (1.30pm). There is also a concert at the Market House, Long Sutton (7.30pm) with Holbeach Town Band. The Royal British Legion is hosting a Christmas Band Concert at Quadring Church Hall (7.30pm) with Banovallum Brass Band. Tickets cost £6 in advance. Windmill Music Club is hosting a Christmas concert with Japanese concert pianist Haruko Seki (7.30pm). Ticket are £12 on the door.
On Wednesday, December 18, there are carols at the Red Lion Quarter in Spalding (6.30pm). The Church of England Parish Day School choir will be adding their young voices to those from Boston College and St Mary’s Singers. The Belleplate and Hand Bell ringing teams will also be making wonderful sounds.
Next Thursday, December 19, there is a carol service at St Luke’s Church, Holbeach Hurn (6.30pm).
On Friday, December 20, the Priory Singers will be putting on a carol service at the United Reformed Church in Spalding (8pm). Admission is free, with a retiring collection for Clic Sargent. On the same day, there’s also casual carols at St Mary’s Church Tydd (6.30pm).
On Saturday, December 21 (6.30pm) it’s Christmas with Cantemus at St Mary’s Church, Pinchbeck, with Pinchbeck East School choir and hosted by Eric Wayman. Tickets are £8 in advance or on the door. Refreshments are available at many concerts.
