Group from two care homes in Holbeach area treated to Christmas outing at Baytree Garden Centre, Weston

Holbeach Hospital put on a "magical afternoon" for residents at Baytree Garden Centre, Weston, as a Christmas treat.

Jackie Wright and Maggie Ward, activities co-ordinators at the community-run hospital in Boston Road North, were joined by director Norman Adcock in organising the outing.

The group were joined by residents and staff from Beech Lodge Nursing Home, in Holbeach St Johns, for the trip to Baytree where they met Father Christmas, fed a reindeer and enjoyed afternoon tea in the restaurant.

Jackie said: "I was a really lovely afternoon and the residents got to reminisce about meeting Father Christmas when they were children, reliving many fond childhood memories.

"For the residents it was the first time in years that they had been able to meet with Father Christmas so it was a truly magical afternoon.”

"Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we would like to offer many thanks to Baytree for being so hospitable."
