Spalding care home inviting the lonely for Christmas lunch
Ashwood Nursing Home has joined the Re-engage Community Christmas campaign to help combat loneliness this festive season. Residents at the Spalding Nursing Home are inviting elderly people to join them for a home-cooked Christmas dinner on December 25 and the invitation is open to anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone.
“Most people love Christmas,” explained home manager Manu Magar. “However, it can be a lonely time, especially for elderly people. This is a small gesture, but we are delighted to be able to invite people to join us on Christmas Day and bring back the magic of Christmas”.
There will be no charge for the meal, places are limited, and people are asked to call the care home to book a place. Attendees will need to make their own way to and from the Spalding Common care home on Christmas Day. Call 01775 723 223 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more or to book a place.
