Holbeach St John’s care home short listed in national awards

Beech Lodge Nursing Home in Holbeach St John’s has been short listed for a prestigious national award.

The Caring UK Awards are now in their third year and the Country Court Care home has beaten off competition from hundreds of others across the UK to be short listed in the Dementia Team of the Year category.

The nursing team at Beech Lodge have been nominated for their patience and understanding when caring for residents living with dementia. They also go out of their way to educate families about living with the condition. As part of this, they take a person-centred approach, as each person with dementia has different symptoms and experiences, so they take time to get to know them and their family individually.

In each category up to seven finalists have been selected and they will now go through to the next stage of the judging process where they will be out to impress by showcasing first hand the great work going on in their homes.

This stage involves a visit to each finalist by a member of the awards team who will take a look around the facilities and chat to residents and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to decide the worthy winners.

Winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday, November 15 at The Athena in Leicester.
