Here's the weekly Man's Best Friend column from staff at the Jerry Green Dog Rescue centre in Algarkirk...

Hello everyone, I’m Dorothy. You may have seen me on the Jerry Green Facebook page? I am now finally ready to start looking for my new home! The team at the South Lincs centre absolutely adore me; they will tell you I’m the sweetest girl in the world.

When I came into the centre, I was quite poorly but I am slowly getting better every day after all the care and love the team are giving me.

I am looking for a nice, quiet home that has the love, time, and patience to continue with my care.

I have been told I’m a very brave girl when it comes to my treatments, my friends at South Lincs can give you a bit more information about my medical needs.

I would like to live in a home with no other dogs or cats please... I have enough wag in my tail for everyone.

I could live with calm children who are in KS4 or older, who understand my condition and needs.

A home with a secure garden where I can sniff and potter around to my heart’s content would be absolutely perfect for me.

I can be left in my new home for up to four hours (any longer and I would miss you!).

I am the friendliest girl with a great big heart and lots of love to give. If it sounds like you might have the perfect home for me please give the South Lincs Centre a call on 01205 260 546 or email them at slincs@jerrygreendogs.org.uk

  • We wanted to do one final push for our Shoe Box Appeal so our dogs can have the best Christmas possible. If you would like to donate any shoeboxes, the centre is open from 11am to 2pm every day apart from Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
You can still donate to the Shoe Box Appeal (53853882)
