Fleet veteran campaigner Harold Payne to hold public meeting on Holbeach Remembrance Parade

A veteran campaigner is holding a public meeting to give people a chance to have their say on plans for Holbeach Remembrance Parade.

Angry Harold Payne hit out at Holbeach Parish Council earlier this week over their decision to cancel the town's marching parade on Remembrance Day but will be holding a static service.

Mr Payne is planning to hold his own parade on Sunday, November 14, but wants to give people the chance to have their say on what should happen.

He will be holding a public meeting at the Anglia Motel at Sunday, October 24, at 2pm.

Mr Payne, who has purchased insurance for the event, said: "I want to have a meeting with people so they can tell me what they want to do. It's not just my decision.

"It would be nice for them to me what they want to do and then we can carry on. I'd really like to get the children involved."
