Deeping St Nicholas churchyard's future is up for discussion after complaints about the state of it

An appeal for more volunteers to look after Deeping St Nicholas’s churchyard has been made following complaints about its condition.

During a parish council meeting at St Nicholas Church on Monday, the Rev Erica Crust outlined some of the problems with the churchyard, including the small number of helpers who keep it tidy and the annual maintenance bill of £4,000.

Parish councillors were warned by Mrs Crust that if the costs of maintaining the churchyard went up, a decision could be made by the church council to close it and pass on responsibility for it to the parish council.
