Cutting edge technology at West Elloe Pharmacy has led to double success for the firm at this year’s Pharmacy Business Awards in London.
The pioneering pharmacy picked up the Innovation Award for providing the first 24-hour dispensing service in the country and for its use of two dispensing robots to cut waiting times for prescriptions.
There was also success for pharmacy director Ryszard Cygan who was named Entrepreneur of the Year after opening Knight Street Pharmacy in Pinchbeck in August 2012.
Ryszard said: “It’s wonderful to get national recognition for the pioneering pharmacy work we’ve done which is quite unique on a national scale.
“We were the first pharmacy in the country to offer patients a 24-hour collection point for prescriptions and we were one of the first pharmacies to have two dispensing robots.”
The pharmacy group employs a total of 29 people at three sites in Spalding and Pinchbeck and to celebrate their success, staff were treated to dinner at the Cley Hall Hotel, Spalding.
Ryszard said: “Quite a lot has happened since West Elloe Pharmacy opened in 1996 but this is the first time that we’ve won awards for innovation and entrepreneurship.
“We’re quite a big employer here but everything we do is based on meeting the needs of our patients.”
