The weather may be chilly in Spalding but it won’t stop comic book and sci-fi geeks from turning up in the town next weekend.
The sixth Doctor Who and Arnold Rimmer from cult TV show Red Dwarf, alias actors Colin Baker and Chris Barrie, are the star names expected at “Geeks South Lincs” on February 28 from 10am till 5pm.
Springfields Events and Conference Centre hosts the “collectors’ paradise” event, with plenty of vintage movie and TV-related toys, action figures, video games, posters, comic books, gifts and models on offer.
Organiser Mark Longman said: “We have some amazing guests with us on the day, including Colin Baker and Terry Molloy (Doctor Who), Virginia Hey (Farscape), Chris Barrie and Hattie Hayridge (Red Dwarf).
“Springfields will be bursting at the seams with specialist traders from across the country and the Super Heroes cosplay team who will be dressed up as your favourite heroes and villains all day.
“There will also be a cosplay competition at 2pm, completely free to enter, hot food and drinks available all day and our friendly Kids Chill Out Zone where the tots can chillax to the max.
