New business start-ups help firm’s expansion

Have your say

HALF the 100-plus new clients who have joined regional accountants Bulley Davey since its new office opened in Holbeach are start-ups of new businesses.

After just two years the Holbeach branch is expanding, and has just moved into a second office next door at 3 Wrights Mews to accomomodate seven staff. It began with just four.

The big increase in start-ups and the expansion of the branch are both signs of the times, according to Bulley Davey partner Peter Wright, who divides his time between the Spalding and Holbeach offices.

He said: “At least half our new clients have come to us to help with setting up a new business, and we know that nationally more companies have been forming than ever.

“I think quite a few of our new clients have been made redundant or have taken a part-time route to self-employment.

“With the downturn of the economy, self-employment starts to raise itself as a possibility for people, and our new Holbeach office is expanding to meet this increasing demand.

“Of course the other half of new clients are established companies and businesses which have come to us from other accountancy firms, and many seem pleasantly surprised by our fee levels!”

Bulley Davey has a much larger branch in Spalding where it directly employs 20 members of staff in its London Road offices.

They have been joined by five administration staff for the new firm Bulley Davey Wealth Management Ltd which offers independent financial services across the area covered by Bulley Davey accountants.
