McDonald’s 24-hour bid

Have your say

COUNCIL planners have recommended that Spalding’s McDonalds restaurant is not allowed to keep its current opening hours.

The fast food chain has applied to South Holland District Council to open from 5am to midnight from Monday to Friday and to open for 24 hours at the weekends.

It has previously won a bid to open for those hours on a temporary basis but council planners are now recommending that members refuse the current application.

A report going to members for Wednesday night’s planning committee meeting states the opening hours suggested would result in “continuing serious detriment” to nearby residents because of the noise from customers and vehicles.
