A NINETEENTH century women’s clothes store in Donington is being returned to its former use by a property developer.
However, while Sharpe’s Market, in the Market Place, catered for ladies and children, and advertised itself as selling millinery and underclothing, Karen Wilson will be selling more contemporary clothing and accessories, at the new shop, Karen’s.
Karen, of Queen’s Close, Donington, bought the former solicitors’ office and has already renovated a flat in the building and has been given planning permission to make a town house to the rear.
However, having the property convinced her it was time to turn her interest in clothing into a business while overseeing the new building project. The shop is due to open today.
