Jobseekers get hope from Youth Week

Have your say

Young jobseekers from Spalding and south Lincolnshire are well-positioned to find work after a week-long motivational course.

At least 17 people aged between 18 to 24 have gained employment after the course run by employment services provider A4e.

The course, named A4e Youth Week, was designed to give young people more confidence in finding work by improving their presentation and communication skills.

Robert Wright, team leader for A4e in south Lincolnshire, said: “Some of the young people started the week low on confidence and self-belief.

“However, due to their hard work and desire to be successful, they have made amazing advances in a short space of time and should be very proud that they have secured sustainable employment as a result.”

A4e chose 30 young people from south Lincolnshire to take part in the youth week, with just over half of them securing apprenticeships in fields such as catering, plumbing, retail and teaching.

Others on the programme are either waiting to hear back after interviews or have ones lined up.

Mr Wright said: “A4e Youth Week has been an amazing success.”
