Jobs have been secured at a packaging distribution business in the area thanks to the intervention of a leading national firm.

Donington Packaging Supplies, in Wardentree Lane, Pinchbeck, formerly of Quadring Road, Donington, has been bought by Antalis from PaperlinX.

The company, which has continued to operate as normal since former owners PaperlinX UK were placed into administration on April 1, is a well-established and successful packaging distribution business.

This acquisition by Antalis secures the future jobs of the 12 local employees at Donington Packaging Supplies after a period of uncertainty.

General manager of Donington Packaging Supplies Adrian Griggs said: “We are really pleased to join the Antalis group which is a key player in the supply of industrial packaging materials in the UK and now it is very much business as usual continuing to provide our customers with excellent products and service.”

Antalis, a leading national distributor of communications and packaging materials and solutions, with its UK headquarters in Leicestershire, has also announced the acquisition of two further packaging businesses: 1st Class Packaging in Northampton and Parkside Packaging in Coventry.

David Hunter, managing director at Antalis, described these as ‘important’ acquisitions that form part of the company’s strategy to substantially grow its packaging business.
