Fears for the future at chocolate shops

Have your say

STAFF at Spalding’s two Thorntons stores are anxiously awaiting news about their future after the chocolate firm announced it is to close half of its shops.

The firm has not yet announced which stores are to go, but has said it will most likely be those stores where the lease is due to expire shortly. Spalding has a store at Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens and a counter inside Hills department store in the town centre.

A spokesman said briefings will be carried out with staff in the next few weeks.
