Entrepreneurs in Bourne and the Deepings who believe their business idea can be the next big thing are invited to pitch during Enterprise Week 2015.

A £1,000 investment is on offer to start-up businesses and prospective inventors through SK Pioneers, an opportunity for entrepreneurs across South Kesteven to submit ideas and plans for an innovative business venture or growth idea.

As well as cash, the winning candidate will also get business advice through the SKDC4Business support scheme run by South Kesteven District Council.

Coun Frances Cartwright, the council’s portfolio holder for economic growth, said: “We encourage and help start-ups and business growth throughout our district and competitions like SK Pioneers help turn ideas into reality.”

Judges for the Dragon’s Den-style competition will include Steve Ingram, the district council’s strategic director of development and growth, as well as Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive Simon Beardsley.

SK Pioneers is part of South Kesteven Enterprise Week which runs from March 9 to 13 and also includes interactive workshops, informative talks and networking events across the district.

One of the week’s highlights will be a day-long business problem solving event called The Shed Without Walls at Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham, on Wednesday March 11 March.

Entries for SK Pioneers must be in by March 13 and for more details, visit www.skdcenterpriseweek.co.uk
