Barclays in Bourne was closed this week due to a fault with the alarms.

The branch in North Street did not open on Monday after the branch manager discovered the building’s alarms were not working.

The branch reopened as normal yesterday (Tuesday). It does not open on Wednesdays but will again be open tomorrow (Thursday).

Community leader for Barclays West Anglia Kathryn Kitson said: “We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused on Monday, July 6, when our Bourne branch was unable to open. This was due to our alarm systems not operating correctly and an engineer was called to correct the situation.

“We were diverting customers to our Market Deeping branch and notifying local businesses of the situation. I am pleased to say that we were open as usual yesterday, Tuesday, July 7, with a fully operational branch.”
