The initiative is a development of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Business, Finance and Accountancy, formed in 2006 to promote dialogue between Parliament, business and the accountancy profession on issues of economic importance.

Mark Hildred, managing partner of Moore Thompson, said: “As a firm that works closely with businesses across Lincolnshire, we have a finger on the pulse of the local economy.

“As such, we were delighted to welcome Mr Hayes to our offices to talk about business-related issues and the way government policies are working at grassroots level.

“We hope the meeting provided as much value to Mr Hayes as it did to the firm and we look forward to engaging with him in an ongoing ‘conversation’ about the local economy.”

Mr Hayes said: “I was delighted to visit Moore Thompson which is a substantial local business employing a large number of people in the heart of Spalding.”
