A YOUNG competitor tries his hand at jelly throwing – but ultimately loses out on the first-ever world champion title.

The inaugural championship, which was part of Sunday’s Whaplode Drove Country Fair, saw teams of two throwing and catching the wobbly stuff.

It was won by brothers Nathan (12) and Regan Green (11), from West Pinchbeck, who caught a whopping 2.29kg.

The fair raised in excess of £3,000 towards Elizabethan Centre funds and attracted more than 1,000 visitors.
