Royal visitor to unveil Spalding's WWII Memorial
HRH The Duke of Kent will be in Spalding on March 13 to unveil the new WWII Memorial in Ayscoughfee Gardens.
The Duke is passionate about war commemoration, and believes future generations should be encouraged to remember the sacrifice made by so many during the world wars.
Speaking about remembrance, the Duke once commented: “WWII anniversaries are now an occasion for joint remembrance: an opportunity to pause and reflect on the horrors of war; to mourn and commemorate those who lost or gave their lives; to display our solidarity with those who survived.”
