FIVE fire engines and 25 firefighters were called to the A52 at Frampton Fen yesterday evening when fire broke out in a car port attached to a bungalow and threatened to spread to homes.

Firefighters rescued a pet dog from the rear of the property.

Fire destroyed the car port and severely damaged a Peugeot 307 car, parts of the adjoining bungalow including a window and guttering, 12 metres of fencing and half of a wooden shed.

A neighbouring home suffered fire damage to three windows.

No one was hurt.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say the blaze started through a fault in a fluorescent light.
