Bourne Grammar School has celebrated the largest intake of Year Seven students in its history with a group photograph that features nearly 200 students who joined the school in September.

The school welcomed nearly 200 Year Seven students from over 40 feeder primary schools, including many who come from Stamford, the Deepings and Peterborough.

Headteacher Jonathan Maddox said: “This is an exciting time for Bourne Grammar. On the back of our outstanding GCSE results, which placed us top in Lincolnshire, Rutland and Peterborough, we now welcome a further-expanded intake.

“More students than ever before sat the recent eleven-plus tests and word has got out that you can get into our school from Stamford, The Deepings and Peterborough.”

Parental demand is driving the school’s expansion plan and, from September 2014, 224 places will be offered to students who gained a qualifying score in the eleven-plus.
