An extra £1,500 a year may have to be found for grass cutting in Deeping St Nicholas.

Parish councillors are to look at taking on maintenance of grass verges in the village after a decision by Lincolnshire County Council last June to cut its grass mowing service in order to save £850,000.

Coun William Rodwell, parish council chairman, said: “The county council grass cutting service used to come to the village ten times a year.

“Now it’s going to be done twice so we’ll do the cutting and then review it to see what people think about it.”
