The Free Press was inundated with calls on Thursday about a big jet flying at low levels around Spalding. The jet could be seen flying at about 3,000 feet at 3pm.
Aviaition expert Alastair Goodrum tells us it was an RAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III that had been on display at the RAF Marham Families Day show in Norfolk.
Alastair said: “The RAF operates eight of these super freighters from RAF Brize Norton with No.99 Squadron. It has a wingspan of 170 feet, a fuselage length of 175 feet and can carry up to 70 metric tonnes of freight over distances up to 4,500 miles.”
