A recent art exhibition at Realitas Community Arts Centre captured on canvas what the Deeping Beavers like best about the area. The group visited the craft centre at Peakirk to review the 500 pictures exhibited by local amateur artists. Taking inspiration from these, they were then introduced to the theme for the evening and given a quick course on painting. Beaver leader Gary Ridgeway said: “It was great to see the Beavers having such fun while learning about their local art, and then applying this to things that are special to them”. Henri Tatton, whose son is a member of the Beavers, said: “This is an excellent initiative. I am particularly impressed by the fact that the kids have now had their own exhibition. “It certainly impressed their family and friends.” Deeping Beavers have 20 members aged between six and seven from Deeping and the surrounding villages.
