Kirton Brass Band entertains at last night of the proms
Flags were waved as a band belted out traditional tunes during their first performance in 18 months.
Kirton Brass Band provided the entertainment for the Last Night of the Proms at The Elizabethan Centre at Whaplode Drove over the weekend.
The main hall was full as people waved flags and sang along to traditional proms music, which included Land of Hope and Glory along with contemporary numbers.
The new musical director was Andy Scott, who looked the part in his Union Jack style jacket.
Singer Emma Scot received a bouquet from Coun Paul Redgate, who also drew the raffle.
Vice Chair of the club, David Barfoot, was delighted with the event’s success.
He said: “Proms Night is traditionally well received and the audience had a great night of entertainment - they were also in tune vocally and didn’t spare the volume.”
