Apprentices at Spalding Bakery are celebrating after passing an industry qualification.

The bakery, part of Addo Food Group, held a celebration lunch for the seven employees who passed their Level 2 Apprenticeship in Food Manufacturing.

The apprentices had to demonstrate baking industry skills for the specialist industry knowledge component.

The qualification was delivered in partnership with the National Centre for Food Manufacturing with off the job training taking place in the purpose built facilities at Holbeach.

Employees were presented with a certificate and an Addo body warmer in recognition of their achievement.

HR manager Sharon Steley said: “An apprenticeship is a productive and effective way for Addo to grow its own talent by developing a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce. “Two of the employees who successfully passed the apprenticeship programme have been able to apply their learnings and progress into a relief team leader position.”
