Bag pack boosts gym club funds by leaps and bounds

Spalding Gymnastics Club has taken leaps and bounds towards its £7,000-plus fundraising target with its first ball (see page 20) and a bag pack at Morrisons’ Pinchbeck store in the same week.

A huge turnout by many of the club’s 300 young members worked in shifts helping customers at Morrisons’ checkout on Saturday March 16, raising a fantastic £900.51p towards replacing the sprung floor that’s wearing out at its Cradge Bank HQ.

Club spokesman Janine Farrell said: “We’re a committee of parents and parents of former club members and we have a lot of money to raise, but we’ve had a really good amount of support at these two events including the ball last Saturday.

“We were grateful to Morrisons for giving us the opportunity of a bagpack and to their generous customers, and the children did well.” (SG160313-123TW)
