Schools from Holbeach, Long Sutton, Moulton, Spalding and Weston Hills come together for School Games netball

On a very cold January day, primary school pupils from across South Holland came together for a School Games netball competition at Spalding High School.

Organiser Rupert Gibson of Agilitas Sports said the determination and resilience shown by all the pupils and the High School sport leaders was fantastic, the quality of play was excellent and many teams made massive improvements through the day.

School Games are a London 2012 Olympics legacy to offer the opportunities to participate in sport, compete against other teams and a chance for young people to volunteer and lead. The aim is to promote participation and competition but also install the values of teamwork, determination, passion, honesty, self belief and respect.

Winners were Ayscoughfee Hall School A, who will now represent south Lincolnshire at the County Finals. Holbeach Fleet Wood Lane were second, with Moulton John Harrox B third, Ayscoughfee B fourth, Harrox A fifth, Long Sutton sixth, Spalding Parish A and B seventh and eighth and Weston Hills ninth.
