Award for Crowland's Abbeyview Surgery

Abbeyview Surgery, in Crowland, has been named GP Practice of the Year in the Lincolnshire Health Awards.

In 2018 the practice was also a winner in the General Practice Awards, scooping The Collaboration with Patients and Other Providers Award.

Dr Abhijit Banerjee, GP Partner at Abbeyview Surgery, said: “We were delighted to be nominated in the first place in the Lincolnshire Healthcare Awards and then thrilled to be named GP Practice Of The Year.

“What makes the award even more special is that the votes come from members of the public and other healthcare professionals.

“We work very hard on behalf of our patients to provide them with access to the best possible healthcare, and we are always looking at the services we offer and how we can develop them to meet the constantly changing and developing healthcare landscape, so the award feels like recognition that we are on the right track and that what we do is appreciated.”

Last year, Abbeyview Surgery became the first GP practice to be featured in the prestigious Parliamentary Review, a series of independent publications aimed at people involved in politics and business. A piece in the review explained how the practice team worked in conjunction with its Patient Participation Group, to successfully create over 30 additional clinical hours a week.

“The entire Abbeyview Surgery team do a phenomenal job looking after the needs of their patients,” added Rebecca Neno, Deputy Chief Nurse, South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

“The practice never stands still and is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve the lives of its patients. On behalf of the CCG, I would like to offer our warmest congratulations to the practice, we are so pleased for them.

The Lincolnshire Health Awards recognise the care, dedication and commitment of people working in healthcare across Lincolnshire.
