Attempted robbery in Bourne

Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Bourne earlier this month.

A 48-year-old local man was walking his dog on Saffron Walk at about 6.45am on Friday, October 9 when he was approached by a white youth aged about 17 or 18 years old, wearing a black hooded top.

The dog walker saw that the person with the hooded top was holding a knife down by his side

The two were walking towards each other and when they got closer the dog walker saw that the person with the hooded top was holding a knife down by his side.

The youth in the hooded top asked the local man for his phone and money. The dog walker replied he had neither with him and continued walking towards Woodview in Bourne.

The youth in the hooded top then continued to walk off in the opposite direction.

Detective Constable James Thompson, of Grantham CID is investigating the crime. He would like to hear from anyone who might have seen any suspicious persons or activity in the area. They should contact police on 101, quoting incident 50 of October 9.
