POLICE were called after a fight in Spalding’s Hall Place.
Officers received reports of a disturbance just before 9pm last Friday and arrested a man on suspicion of assault.
Another man was injured and taken to hospital but later discharged himself and refused to make a complaint.
The arrested man was cautioned for assault the following morning and released.
Sgt Stuart Hurst said efforts were still being made to tackle problems in the town centre as part of Operation Trunk.
He said: “My team report that they have seen a fall in people drinking in the street and have received a lot of positive comments from the public, including for the use of cycles.
“We will not be complacent and Operation Trunk will continue well into the summer.
“I encourage reporting by the public to help us ensure the community feels safe in our town centres.”
As part of the operation, Anthony Holmes, of Pinchbeck Road, will appear in court today to face a charge of assaulting PCSO Beverley Robinson and using threatening words and behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence following an incident on May 24.
