Spalding to host annual Armed Forces Parade
The sixth annual Armed Forces Parade takes place in Spalding Market Place next Tuesday, June 25.
This event has been held every year since Spalding Market Traders Association advised told South Holland District Council in 2014 that members would like to show their appreciation and respect for the work the Armed Forces do on our collective behalf.
A good turnout of veterans from all the services and many recent conflicts will march from Hall Place and form up in the town centre. They will be joined by a representative detachment of serving men and women from RAF bases in Lincolnshire. Schools will also attend, as well as the Mini Police will also be in attendance.
The parade will muster in Hall Place from 10.30am-10.45am and be ready to march off at 10.50am to an area outside Beales, in Market Place, for a short service led by the Vicar of Spalding, the Rev John Bennett.
There will also be a song performed by local singer Craig Delaney.
There is a tombola stall in the Market Place to raise funds for the Royal British Legion and people are asked to support this by bringing along a prize.
