South Holland District Council forecasts £1million budget gap due to COVID-19

South Holland leaders are set for a budget gap of about £1million this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Higher spending on waste collection, the temporary closure of South Holland Centre, and reduced income from car parks were among the factors behind an overspend of more than £2.8million, according to a new report.

During a virtual meeting of South Holland District Council cabinet members and Independent group leaders on Tuesday, it was confirmed that government grants of more than £1.42million would help to cover some of the shortfall.
