Chain Bridge Forge in Spalding has just missed out on a prestigious award.
The forge was shortlisted for the East Midlands Museum Service (EMMS) Judges’ Special Award.
There were 61 entries from 38 different organisations to the Heritage Awards so it was a great achievement to be shortlisted.
The judges had some really difficult decisions to make but they made some very encouraging comments on the forge’s project, entitled: “ Engaging the Young in Heritage Craft’.
n the hands-on blacksmithing was brilliant;
n the project was really innovative and quirky;
n it was lovely and local but innovative too (eg 3D printing);
n the partnership with the University of Lincoln was effective.
