East Midlands Ambulance Service's (EMAS) non-emergency phone line was down earlier - meaning callers could not get in touch.

A reader contacted the Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian frustrated that the line had not been working since at least Tuesday - but there was no information on the EMAS website or social media about alternative ways to get in touch.

People can contact the service via direct message on Facebook and Twitter. There are various other contact details on the organisation's Contact Us web page.

However, 999 services were not affected.

The number that was out of order was: 0115 884 5000

A Virgin Media Business spokesperson said: “An issue which was affecting phone services at the East Midlands Ambulance Service earlier today has been resolved and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"There was no risk to life, 999 calls to the emergency services were still being answered and ambulances were being dispatched as usual.”

EMAS serve Lincolnshire and other counties.

We're awaiting information from EMAS over when the problem might be resolved.
