LEARN MOREA teenager so impressed a firm of mechanical engineers during work experience that they have offered him a job.
Alfie Farrar (15) is due to start a mechanical apprenticeship with Industrotech in Cresswell Close, Pinchbeck, next year.
Managing director Ricky Boor surprised Alfie, who is a student with the University Training College in Peterborough, with the offer and a tool set following the end of his placement.
Mr Boor said: “Alfie was always on time and happy.
“He fitted in really well with the team and was very focused and interested in what we are doing.
“If a student is on work experience, you are not officially allowed to pay them but we thought we would pay for a tool kit for him to say thank you for all the hard work.
“It was a surprise presentation and his dad said he was chuffed to bits.”
Alfie had been offered a mechanical apprenticeship when he will have the opportunity to learn a number of skills including welding. He is due to start early next year.
