Allotment land in Saracen's Head, Whaplode, Whaplode Drove and Whaplode St Catherine is being reviewed

A review and rent revaluation of up to 140 acres of allotment land across four villages, including Whaplode, "had to be done and is long overdue".

Nearly 50 tenants have been given notice to quit by Whaplode Parish Council, with the choice of either taking up a new agreement or handing their allotments back.

During a meeting at Saracen's Head Village Hall on Wednesday, Coun Richard Barlow told members that the review was going ahead based on legal advice, with the aim of "making the maximum level of income for the parish."
