Do you know a boy or girl who would like to lead the Spalding Tulipmania parade?
The search for a Tulipmania Prince and Princess has already attracted some young hopefuls, but there is still plenty of time to enter.
Tulip Radio is organising the competition on Saturday, May 2 – continuing the tradition established by the Flower Parade of involving young people.
Entrants aged five to 12 are asked to wear tulip-themed outfits. Jan Whitbourn, of Tulip Radio, said how much is spent on the outfit is not important. She said: “Personality is what’s important and not being shy when the crowds wave. The Prince and Princess will lead the procession, but there will be room for 10 other entrants on the Springfields train which will follow.”
Fill in the coupon in tomorrow’s Spalding Guardian and post it with a picture to Tulip Radio at 13a The Crescent, Spalding, Lincs, PE11 1AE. Prince and Princess hopefuls will need to pop along to Tulip Radio in The Crescent for an interview with Jan and fill in a form about themselves. An appointment must be made by calling 01775 712400.
